The Prophet Daniel's 70 weeks

The birth and Ministry of Jesus Christ was predicted.

The prediction in the book of Daniel is with exact years.   They have proven to be accurate.

The system of using day for a year methodology is shown in Ezekiel 4:6 and Numbers 14:34.  So, a "week" is not 7 days, it's 7 years.

Daniel 9:25

"Know therefore and understand that from the going forth of the **commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah (the baptism and beginning of the ministry) the Prince shall be *seven weeks, (7) and threescore and two weeks (62 weeks): (total 69 or 483 years) the street shall be built again, and the wall even in troubleous times."

The **commandment was in the 7th year of King Artaxerxes, which was 457 BC (before Christ)   See Ezra 7:13****

The *7 weeks (above) was 49 years to rebuild Jerusalem and the Temple.

The Messiah was baptised in 27 AD, and the end of the disciples ministry to the Jews was 490 years (70 weeks) after the **commandment (34 AD).   At 34 AD, 70 weeks had been fulfilled.

Daniel 9:24

"Seventy weeks***** are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy,
and to anoint the most Holy."

Ezra 4:3

"...build an house unto our God...as king Cyrus of the king of Persia hath commanded us."

Before Cyrus was born, the prophet Isaiah prophesied his name:

Isaiah 44:28

"...Cyrus, he is my shepherd, and shall 0perform all my pleasure; even saying to Jerusalem thou shalt be built, and to the Temple thy foundation shall be laid..."

****Ezra 7:13

"I make a decree, that all they of the people of Israel; and of his priests and Levites, in my realm, which are minded of their own freewill to go up to Jerusalem, go with thee.

The 483 years (62 plus 7 "weeks") was from 457 BC to 27 AD.  In the ******midst of the 7 years after 27 AD (3 1/2 years) Messiah was crucified.  3 1/2 years later, Stephen was stoned, and then in 34 AD the preaching was mainly to the gentiles. (69 + 1 = 70)*****

Daniel 9:27

"And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week, and in the ******midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease..."

There is no longer a need for animal sacrifice.  Jesus was the "Lamb of God."
