Subject: Just Quit Wasting your Time With Skeptics!
Date: Fri, 25 Jul 1997 19:41:03 -0400

         [BRACKETS -- MY COMMENTS---BDK]

[I am going to quote the parts of this post that

           1. Make sense
           2. Are Honest
           3. Are Civil

...and leave out irrelevant parts, and parts that
do not fit the above criteria.---BDK]

Just Quit Wasting your Time With Skeptics!

[Excellent idea--as one should not waste time with anything
that shows few signs of a probability of enjoyment,
 helping oneself or others---BDK]

If you are one who keeps writing to these
People you are only Wasting your Time. They
           do not care...

[Well, if one is attempting to convert "skeptics" I agree,
and that makes sense, that they, for the most part,
 "do not care..." ---BDK]

So Why don't we all just get
            together and Shun The Skeptics!!!

[That's a good idea. Let's *not* post in sci.skeptic
to seek them out, either. ---BDK]

           ...focusing more attention on the
People Who <snip> [find paranormal phenomena
           and New Age Philosophy important---BDK]
Rather then Those who Do not.

[That's another good idea---BDK]

[However, I believe that, without necessarily arguing with   "skeptics," the mentality of such people should be exposed
when they choose to post in paranormal-spiritual newsgroups.
My series "Intelligent Life..." and "sense-honesty-civility"
enable this exposure to continue as long as their presence
is noted in these newsgroups, without argument, as they are merely repeated threads and comments---BDK]

[When so-called "skeptics" post in newsgroups like
alt.paranet.ufo and alt.paranormal, and their posts lack
sense, honesty, and civility, perhaps the exposure will
give them incentive to communicate amongst themselves,
in newsgroups such as sci.skeptic---BDK]

The Newsreader FORTE AGENT has a capability for screening
all writing out, except for a select few.

You can actually select *to read* the writing of
certain authors, and automatically screen out the rest.

You may also read all but certain writers.

Only the postings that you want to read are placed in
your computer memory, and you can read and respond while
not connected to the INTERNET.

The above is a perfect way to avoid wasting time with UNintelligent life on the Net.  You can rely upon our force
of cesspool sifters to help you know who to allow into your
USENET world.

Stay tuned to our series for a longer, more complete,
list in the future, but for now, your recommended
*allow to read* list is:

                      flagship@epix.net
                      johnf@melbpc.org.au
                      Bruce Daniel Kettler
                      sir@srv.net
                      Charles Gregory

                      (there are more, read posts
                       and decide who they are)

Now and then, a "skeptic" will post in paranormal
newsgroups, and make sense, be honest, and civil.
That is so seldom that when it does happen, it's
worthy of note, as I did in part 12 of this series.

Enter into your FORTE AGENT, newsreader: author:
flagship@epix.net with your "add watch filter" and
"retrieve body immediately" commands.  At the bottom
of your list, have a "kill" for "author: *" and
"subject *" -- which "kills" all messages except
those you want to retrieve.  This feature only works
in the paid-for version of FORTE AGENT.

Join us again as we make our increasingly difficult
search for "Intelligent Life on the Net."

It's there, but you just have to search.

I notice, at times, the same author can place signs
of intelligent life, and other times, signs of
unintelligent life -- depending upon their mood,
I guess.

========================================================

As we enter into this realm that is sometimes called "cyberspace," we look at the life forms in this part of
space, and then descending in our spacecraft and
operating our sensors, we search and note that, though
often the search is vain, through the many lifeforms
with abundant insanity, illogic, falsity, and hostility,
now and then we find...

              "Intelligent Life On the Net"

Now and then, there is such life, and we will report it
when we find it, and then, also, as we report what we
come across in our attempt, showing the UN-intelligent
life.

Yes, folks, anyone, and I do mean *anyone*, can post to USENET, or put writing up on the WEB and in the search engines.

There's no screening process, as the sickest, most stupid, immature, and fanatical liars write, and most of it is
garbage.

You have to learn to sift through it, wipe off the filfth
and get rid of the stink, and find what is...

               HONEST

               CIVIL

                and

               MAKES SENSE

It's difficult, and there is value on the INTERNET, but one must search with caution.

Today, in part 12, we report the results of our attempt,
and, as we find so seldom, in that geographical region known as USENET, that most scarce...

there are no spirits. BDK

Okay, here's where I side with the "skeptics."

When I say I side with you all, it does not mean I side
with your position about spirits.  It does not mean
I am saying there are no spirits.  It  means I side
with your argument, your logic.

You made sense.
You were honest.
You were civil.

The writer, as signified above, does not reveal either a name or an actual Internet Service Provider.  Though e-mail may be sent to him, and he will receive it, it is "via."
This note does not concern direct evidence of unintelligent life on the Net.

You, evidently, believe that there is no evidence of PSI outside the community of paranormal enthusiasts. I've given references to unbiased research in posts, as shown below:

Well, I did make reference to Brian Zeiler's posts, and copied
them to this newsgroup, alt.paranormal, not long ago.
Readers may access

                  PSI Laboratory Tests

...and see references to scientific research.

Could that be the "scientifically accurate research" you
are referring to?

> My goal is <snip> [to] ...truly search for the sources  and answers.

Ah ha, well then go ahead and start searching, as referenced
below:

           http://www.psicounsel.com/scistudy.html

It does not make sense to assert a position, imply a need for evidence to the contrary, and refuse to examine that evidence in a posted reply to your assertion.  The evidence is in the reference which follows, that I'd made.  Our posts were an ongoing dialogue.

           http://www.psicounsel.com/scistudy.html

It would make sense to examine it, and decide for yourself
if you agreed that the research came from the "sciences
outside the community of paranormal enthusiasts."

Or, you could have disagreed without examining it, stating:

   1. I know there is no such thing, without examination
   2. I don't know if there is such a thing, but there
probably isn't, so I won't waste my time

Whether you agreed or not, the above statements would have
been been more intellectually palatable to an intelligent
person.
